n n n Consultant to coordinate and monitor the Aging Facility n nn Consultant to coordinate and monitor the Aging Facility nn nn Background of this search: nn nn The Social Protection and Health Division (SPH) is looking for a consultant to support the dialogue and knowledge sharing within the Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) region and collaborate with experts and stakeholders outside the region, coordinate and supervise the quality and relevance of the analytic work and contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of the Aging Facility: Strengthening Capacity for Health, Long-Term Care and Social Services, and assist in the execution of technical assistance programs and the development of partnerships to help in their implementation.

nn nn The Social Protection and Health Division (SPH) is tasked with the preparation and supervision of IDB operations in borrowing member countries in the areas of social protection (safety nets and transfers and services for social inclusion which include: early childhood development, youth programs, care services for dependency, among others), health (health capital investment strategies, health networks strengthening, health system financing, organization and performance, etc.) and nutrition.

nn nn The Social Protection and Health Division (SPH) is currently looking for a consultant to support the dialogue and knowledge sharing within LAC region and collaborate with experts and stakeholders outside the region, coordinate and supervise the quality and relevance of the analytic work and contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of the Aging Facility: Strengthening Capacity for Health, Long-Term Care and Social Services, and assist in the execution of technical assistance programs and the development of partnerships to help in their implementation.

Focus will be on technical assistance activities in Latin America and the Caribbean supporting (i) dialogue and knowledge sharing in the LAC region in the area of long-term care; (ii) fostering the development of sustainable products and services and (iii) disseminating knowledge and upgrading government capacities in the long-term care area throughout the region.

nn nn What you’ll do: nn Work as a consultant in the Social Protection and Health Division.

Support in the design and the execution of advisory services funded by the AFD and the IDB and future developments of the Aging Facility.

Identify suitable projects in coordination with SPH Specialists to be supported by the Aging Facility funded by AFD and the IDB.

Assist in facilitating an effective communication and coordination with partners in the region and with the donor of the Facility, the French Development Agency (AFD).

Support the execution of advisory services projects including writing terms of references, identifying consultants for projects, reviewing project related materials, conducting case studies, producing fact sheets, monitoring project milestones, evaluating project results, managing design, execution, and evaluation of pilots, drafting individual technical cooperation and preparing project disbursement requirements.

Support the preparation of conferences such as seminars, forums and workshops to share knowledge and experiences in sectors related to long-term care and the Aging Facility.

Support the development of a knowledge, communications and outreach strategy to capture and share the lessons learned from events and pilot projects and lead to replication at scale.

Contribute to the production of annual reports and documentation related to the Aging Facility funded by AFD and the IDB.

Coordinate junior consultants hired locally when necessary in the countries where technical operation support will take place.

nn What you’ll need: nn Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries.

We may offer assistance with relocation and visa applications for you and your eligible dependents.

Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB Group.

Education: Master’s degree in public health, public policy, economics, business administration, finance, international development, social policy, or another relevant field or equivalent.

Experience: At least of (5) years of relevant professional experience or the equivalent of education and experience.

Languages: Ability to read, write and speak Spanish and English is required, knowledge of French is desirable.

Project Management and monitoring skills.

Ability to design and produce analytical reports.

Ability for multidisciplinary work.

Ability and willingness to work with local authorities.

nn Opprtunity Summary: nn Type of contract: Consultant Full Time (CNS).

Length of contract: 6 months with opportunity for extension up to 3 years.

Location: Headquarters Washington DC, United States of America.

Requirements: You must be a citizen of one of the IDB’s 48 member countries and have no family members currently working at the IDB Group.
