Job Description

Children’s Therapy Center is looking for a Director of Fund Development to provide strategic direction, oversight and hands-on execution of CTC fund development strategies and activities.

Our Director of Fund Development will work with the Fund Development Team and Executive Team to develop and execute fund development goals and secure resources through development, implementation, and oversight of a comprehensive fund development program.

Our ideal candidate is a collaborative, hands-on leader who can successfully increase CTC’s visibility and grow philanthropic giving.

Our Director of Fund Development will inspire a culture of philanthropy among CTC Staff, Board, clients, and partners, and will cultivate strong relationships not only within the communities we serve, but also across counties, and at the state-level.

Primary Responsibilities
Inspire and guide staff and partners in articulating the connections between CTC work/initiatives and funder interests.

Effectively build and strengthen networks of personal and professional relationships that can be leveraged to build support for CTC.

Develop and implement fund development plans and inspire a culture of philanthropy at CTC; helping to incorporate funder and donor cultivation into all CTC activities.

Draw on knowledge of social media, digital marketing, peer-to-peer action, and crowd sourcing to build CTC capacity to raise awareness and funds.

Draw on leadership and management theory, and practices to support effective executive leadership.

Identify emerging issues in the political, program and philanthropic environments around health care, human services, and early learning aspects of CTC’s work, developing and implementing new approaches and/or refining development strategy.

Project a collaborative and professional presence with sensitivity to confidential material.

Maintain effective project management to balance multiple team projects and deadlines while maintaining a perspective on long-term goals.

Draw on theory and understanding of current fund development tools and practices for strategic uses.

Facilitate groups, and make effective presentations; strong verbal and written communication skills.

Effectively engage and cultivate prospective funders, donors, and elected officials.

Plan and execute funder and donor cultivation events.

Hold staff up by being trustworthy and treating others respectfully and equitably.

Foster teamwork, partnership and equity through effective interpersonal skills, proactive listening, intentional relationship development and exceeding customer expectations.

Foster innovation by continuously assessing and improving programs, operations, and workflow
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required with master’s degree preferred in non-profit management, executive leadership, public administration, or related field.

5+ years of successful and increasingly responsible experience overseeing a fund development program (including foundation grants, corporate sponsorship, public sector funding, and individual gifts) for a non-profit organization is required.

A certificate in fund development and/or non-profit management is desired.

Experience in the human service sector is desired.

Ability to effectively maneuver complex environments by coping with ambiguity, change and conflict with grace.

Clearly and effectively communicate in a variety of styles, settings, and methods.

Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office and other software skills to manage workflow, communicate, and execute work.
