Japanese Bilingual Branch Manager

n Position: Japanese Bilingual Branch Manager  n nWork Location: SeaTac area, WAn n n nSummaryn nThis position is responsible for managing and directing all aspects of the branch functions, including Freight Forwarding, Import & Export, Brokerage, Warehousing and Distribution, Logistics.n nOversees daily operations ensuing positive revenue generation, high customer service standards, employee development, and continued excellence in productivity and profitability. n nDirect supervisory responsibilities for the branch include training employees, planning, assigning and directing work in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.n n n n n nEssential Duties and Responsibilities Include But Not Are Limited To:n n
•           Manages the all day-to-day work activities for the Freight Forwarding, Import & Export, Brokerage, Warehouse and Distribution operations including customer service, booking, documentation, rate quotation, compliance, customs brokerage, notification, delivery and warehouse coordination.n n
•           Demonstrates industry expertise and experience to lead the branch to achieve revenue and profitability targets, increase market share and improve customer satisfaction within a geographic business market while adhering to company and legal policies and procedures.n n
•           Maintain high service standards and operational excellence throughout the branch from the aspects of customer service, warehousing, logistics services, cash management, and other related functions.n n
•           Responsible for branch P&L, budgets, and all other financial activities and reports.

Forecasts, prepares and monitors the budgeting process.n n
•           Develops and presents to Top Management matters requiring Corporate approval.n n
•           Maintain existing client satisfaction by excelling the service level while demonstrate leadership skills to drive the branch to obtain new business.n n
•           Understand, address and resolve issues that arise in day-to-day operations. n n
•           Ensure branch is compliant, profitable, and operating efficiently.n n
•           Oversee all services and procedures; recommend improvements as necessary.

Investigates and resolves customer complaints.n n
•           Guide and motivate staff; promote culture of teamwork and exemplary customer service.n n
•           Delegates and advises departmental staff regarding the company’s corporate philosophy and business practices.

Motivates, develops and mentors departmental staff for improved performance.n n
•           Personnel management including recruiting, training, performance evaluation, disciplinary actions, investigation, training, workers compensation, and separation from employment with consultation from senior management or human resources, as needed. n n
•           Monitors the warehouse area layout and other storage space to maximize efficiency and productivity while considering turnover, size, weight, and other related factors of product stored in the warehouse.n n
•           Generates, reviews, and maintains logs, files, and reports to monitor warehouse performance and ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, customers, vendors, and senior management. 
•            Determines work procedures to expedite workflow, efficiencies, accuracy, and manage discrepancies with inventory and recordkeeping.n n
•           Negotiate with vendors, carriers and contractors to optimize best combination of service and rates as well as develop relationships.n n
•           Adapt to the effects of market, trade, customer and competitive activities.n n
•           Reports all information and business decisions to upper management and provide updates as requested.  Responds in a timely manner to management requests for information and support.n n
•           Performs other duties as assigned by management.n n n n n nQualifications:n n
•           Fully bilingual (English/Japanese) proficiencyn n
•           Prior work experience and knowledge of the transportation/freight forwarding/logistics industryn n
•           Prior managerial and industry operations experience required n n
•           Possess work authorization in the U.S.

•           BA/BS degree and ten  years’ experience within the logistics / transportation industryn n
