Our associates gain valuable experience here while meeting guests and coworkers from around the world, and in their free time they have a magical world of pristine mountain meadows, majestic waterfalls, peaceful old-growth forests, and much more to explore! Throughout the season we have regularly scheduled activities and day trips with transportation provided for associates, including trips to nearby adventures or cities like Seattle to visit Pike Place or catch a Mariners game! Employees with vehicles are only a short 2 hour trip away from exploring many destinations like Portland and Seattle on their own. Because of our unique location, room and board are provided to associates who do not live in one of our surrounding communities at a very low-cost via payroll deduction. Laundry facilities are provided at each dorm unit at no cost to employees. Employee meals are served in Employee Dining Rooms. We can also accommodate a limited number of RV units. All RV’s must be fully self-contained – no camper shells/vans, etc. As a team member in Mt. Rainier National Park you can expect your season to last from approximately early June to the mid October. Undersupervision of the General Manager, assist in the daily operation of the giftshop to maintain a consistently high standard of guest service, cleanliness,product presentation, and cost control. Completeguest transactions and assist clerks with voids, corrections and relatedspecial situations. Supervise Retail Clerks to ensure tasks are completed in afriendly, safe and efficient manner. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSMonitor, problem solve, and supervise workers to ensure efficient and safe completion of all tasks daily.Train hourly staff for peak performance and monitor staff’s development.Complete sales in POS in an accurate, efficient and friendly manner; assist clerks with same.Ensure complete guest satisfaction at all times. Handle guests’ complaints and solve them according to customer service standards and completing sales on register.Maintain store displays daily through stock rotation, cleaning, and organizing.Maintain and ensure safe facility environment including standards for maintenance and upkeep of unit’s equipment, inventory, housekeeping, sanitation, cash control, dress, and employee hygiene.Notify General Manager of all unusual events, circumstances, or other safety or quality control issues.Assist management team with inventory procedures as directed.Perform opening and/or closing procedures.Maintain awareness of safety issues and report them immediately to your manager.Receive and verify quantities of food stock and merchandise, organize and stock store, set displays.Assist in maintenance of department records such as schedules, payroll, deposits, and daily cash reports.Performs such other related duties as directed or required. . SKILL ANDKNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS INCLUDEHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred. Bachelor’s or Business Degree preferred.ServeSafe Manager and MAST/TIPS Certifications required.National Park gift shop and/or food service experience strongly preferred. At least 1-2 years of experience in retail.Demonstrated talent for interacting with a wide variety of people.Able to learn and use POS system including computerized cash registTo view the full job description, click here
