Operations Manager

Z-Global Logistics

This is a Full-time position in Pacific, WA posted July 1, 2021.

GENERAL PURPOSE

Looking for motivated professionals looking to grow their careers in third party logistics.

The operations manager will oversee the inbound operation responsible for all inbound containers from oversees, replenishments, and all other material handling for our Washington locations,

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise, develop, review and train inbound team, including temporary staff.

Work with temporary agencies to recruit temporary staff and reconcile invoices for temporary labor.

Ensure the inbound team is meeting production and quality goals.

Develop action plans to improve performance, as needed.

Ensure pallets are being received to correctly to maximize cube in the warehouse.

Prioritize and direct team Leads to re-assign jobs throughout the day.

Ensure work is completed accurately and meets all deadlines.

Implement continuous improvements to optimize operational efficiency.

Collaborate with Customer Service, ICQA, Outbound, and IT as needed.

Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by monitoring security procedures and protocols.

Performance reviews Coaching and disciplinary action Building a schedule for employees Forecasting incoming loads and planning staffing accordingly.

A strong work ethic and a clear open mind willing to understand how the company need the warehouse to be run properly.

Knowledge of warehouse operations best practices.

Commitment to excellence and high standards Strong problem-solving skills within the organization Versatile, adaptable and willing to work with constantly changing priorities.

Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.

Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.

Forklift certified or able to become forklift certified.

Must comply and implement all safety requirements.

Ability to perform physical labor when necessary.

 

  Education/ Years of Related Experience:

QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED Knowledge of Distribution Center and WMS functionality 5-7 years of leadership experience
 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to solve problems effectively.

Ability to communicate and motivate employees.

Knowledge/Understanding Vendor Regulations Forecasting and planning Employee development

·        Written and oral communication skills

 

  WORKING CONDITIONS

·        Works in areas requiring exposure to varying temperatures, extreme heat or cold, and/or wet, damp, or drafty conditions.

·        May be required to work overnight, weekends, and varying shifts.

·        Works indoors for extended periods of time.

·        Travels to multiple work sites based on volumes and business needs.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

·        Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

·        Able to be on your feet for 8-12 hours a day.
