Paint Tech Supervisor

We are seeking a Paint Technician Supervisor for our North Baltimore, Ohio Plant.

Position Summary: The primary responsibility of the Paint Tech Supervisor is to lead the hourly paint department staff and manage the operations of the Paint Department during their respective shift, with emphasis placed on equipment and overall processes, assuring that all parts requiring paint are painted to customer quality specifications.

Job Functions: Oversee the operation of robotic and automatic painting equipment.

Clean and maintain paint related equipment.

Ensure all operations and processes are in specification.

Train, Direct, Schedule and hold accountable hourly departmental employees.

Ensure all quality control data is collected properly and respond to out of specification processes.

Participate in developing departmental practices and procedures jointly with all personnel.

Data entry and distribution of quality related data.

Ensure all plant safety rules, UAW contract and the plant rules are followed.

Complete all shift paperwork and reports.

Oversee all quality testing and ensure conformance to all specifications.

Actively works with floor personnel to ensure quality product.

Work with manufacturing to determine paint line capacity and line configuration to meet production needs.

Completes departmental practices and procedures jointly with all personnel.

Have daily safety contact with employees.

Report to maintenance safety issues and follow-up completion.

Conduct effective, timely accident investigations and initiate corrective action.

Train and encourage employees to follow safe work practices.

Provide effective Safety Talks with a goal of 100% participation.

Encourage employees to be involved in the safety process.

Enforce rules and procedures consistently.

Supports quality, environmental and 5-S programs.

Strive for safe production.

Lead by Example.

Deliverables Shift reports Accumulate and publish all paint quality data Filtration inventories and purchase orders Appropriation requests for capital and deferred monies for the paint system Paint system monthly K.O.P.

rework data as required Issue process improvements and cost reductions as required Qualifications: Two year degree or 3-5 years of related experience in paint shop and production floor environment.

Two years supervising direct reports.
