Director, Product Management – Payment Risk

Overview of Position
Change Healthcare is looking for a visionary Senior Product leader to shape and drive the strategic vision for the future of Intelligent Medical Networks in Healthcare. This individual will report directly to the VP/ General Manager of the business unit and operate as a member of the Business Leadership Team.

As the product leader, you will help create the blueprint for the future of Payment Risk Management in the industry and will share that vision with key influencers across healthcare, partnering with marketing and public relations to evangelize Change Healthcare’s industry leadership. Your initial focus will be to develop a solution that combines Change Healthcare’s current payment products and newly developed Artificial Intelligence engine to predict payments associated with claims and manage recovery risk.

You will operate as a member of the business leadership team, working closely with the General Manager and Technology leaders across Change Healthcare to accelerate our product journey to an AI-first platform-based strategy that provides an unparalleled level of insights to our customers and their patients.

You will partner with key internal and external stakeholders to scope, develop, and execute new solutions with a design-thinking approach. You will actively engage the market, key customers, and key influencers, seeking opportunities for partnerships and strategic co-innovation projects alongside forward-thinking providers, payers, and premier customer-partners. You will also work closely with internal business and technology teams to define aspects of the Product and platform roadmap, creatively leveraging all assets of Change Healthcare’s extensive suite of products and services, especially the vast data assets.

You must possess a unique blend of business and technical intellect, including design-thinking experience, a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. You must communicate effectively with all areas of the company to evangelize the vision of the product and achieve buy-in at the C-Suite and beyond, as well as the external market.
Based on interactions with key customer stakeholders and a keen understanding of the provider market, you will define, build, and own the product roadmap. You will partner across a matrixed team to guide development processes, helping to define the user experience and providing necessary documentation and definition around customer and patient needs, both current and future, related to your product.

What will I be responsible for in this job?
Inspire key stakeholders, both internal and external healthcare executives, with a compelling AI-first platform-based vision of Payment Prediction, leveraging technology, AI, and data insights to achieve unparalleled results.
Understand the business, market, and customer needs (in partnership with the general managers of the product area), for both today and in the future
Leveraging an empathetic, design-thinking methodology, develop a deep understanding of our customers and help us uncover the “Jobs to be Done”, not just features that the customers are asking for
Set up an eco-system of customers (Payer and Provider) and other market stakeholders to understand their issues and strategies in the areas of Payment responsibility & risk, test hypotheses, and create true, user-focused design and best-in-class user experience
Work with our internal teams to deliver consistently delightful products that exceed users’ expectations
Own product commitments and outcomes to the business leaders. Understand and champion the financial impact (revenue and costs) of each product, ensuring prioritization is optimized for long-term business success
Identify and manage cross-portfolio & cross-project dependencies in conjunction with Project Management.
Define product scalability, availability, and manageability requirements.
Work across various groups to ensure an integrated Product launch, including comprehensive solution documentation, pre-launch demos, and integrated user acceptance test plans.
Partner with Sales leadership to support large deals, leveraging a consultative, solution-oriented approach.
Work with Sales Implementation and Support to produce sales demo and training materials for internal use.

What are the requirements?
Minimum 12+ years of experience leading product management or marketing with success in meeting budgets and timelines for a division or operation unit for the healthcare business.
Minimum 5 years of executive management experience
Bachelor’s degree, Master’s preferred.

What critical skills are needed for you to consider someone for this position?
Experience as a technologist in the areas of Smart Contracts, Distributed Ledger, and Blockchain.
Experience as a healthcare strategy consultant and/or product officer of a large product suite
Experience leveraging design-thinking methodology and empathy interviewing practices
Experience in building out AI-first platform-based strategies
Strong leadership experience in the product development process.
Proven leadership (results delivered) in a matrix environment for over five years.
Ability to create business processes and modeling documentation.
Strong ability to present to C-Suite and Board of Directors audiences
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Problem-solving skills with an ability to incorporate process improvement tools.
Ability to work independently and in a cross-functional team environment.
Consultative approach to building consensus.
Ability to anticipate needs.

How much should I expect to travel?
Must be able to travel up to 25%
Employees in roles that require travel will need to be able to qualify for a company credit card or be able to use their own personal credit card for travel expenses and submit for reimbursement.
