Production SupervisorOmak Facility, 1124 5th Avenue E, Omak, Washington, United States of AmericaReq #216Monday, May 24, 2021Job Summary:The Production Supervisor plans and manages the day-to-day allocation of resources for designated shift (equipment, people, materials, and systems) in order to efficiently, safely and cost effectively achieve performance targets as agreed with Production Management. They also ensure that a high quality of products, services, housekeeping, and hygiene standards are maintained and improved in the area; review daily achievement of targets and report variances during on-the-floor and review meetings; and coach, mentor and develop team members to meet current and future business requirements. Key Duties & Responsibilities* Supervises employees to ensure safety, quality, and productivity. Achieves budgeted targets for raw material yield, labor, and packaging materialsusage for shift. Responsible for the accuracy of all production reporting elated to shift. Schedule and conduct daily production meetings with shift personnelAudit’s workstations to ensure SOPS are being following routinely.Collaborating with warehouse and quality assurance personnel to ensure prompt shipment of product.Responsible for the complete and accurate reporting of shift production data.Maintaining GMP / Housekeeping at a high level within the department through the involvement of all team members.Develops and recommends improvements of facilities, equipment, or procedures to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.Oversees and or conducts shift training of new or existing employees. Drives productivity, quality, and safety initiatives throughout production to impact productivity and the cost structure.Establish and support a work environment of continuous improvement that supports the companies Quality policy, Quality System & the appropriate regulations for the area. Oversees the management of shift production personnel including appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and documenting all safety/accident incidents.Drives productivity, quality, and safety initiatives throughout production to impact productivity and the cost structure. Ensures production is following SunOpta QA standards, SOPs, HACCP, and GMPCommitted to ensuring that the products produced meet all food safety and quality requirements.Collaborate with cross-functional groups including Human Resources, Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Warehousing, and Finance to meet production targets.Supervisory Responsibilities:Manages up to 40 employees on a production shift. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of assigned shift. Ensure effective employee relations. Provide employee coaching and development. Resolve employee issues through problem resolution. Manage production line performance measures and provide regular progress reports to managers. Coach and counsel employees; document/discuss performance reviews on a timely basis. Perform accident investigations. Manage production priorities. Track absenteeism and timekeeping. Responsible for all other duties as assigned. Expected OutcomesShift labor and material costs managed to budget. Production reporting will be timely and accurate. Shift will be managed proactively. Shift personnel will be evaluated on job skills with improvement plans. Shift personnel will be mentored to ensure their success. Qualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Experience and Education:Must have a minimum of 5 – 7 years of experience in a supervisory role in the manufacturing industry. Must have the demonstrated ability to carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Skills:Must have a working knowledge of MS Word and MS PowerPoint software, and be proficient with MS Excel software. Other skill-related tests may be required. Language:Read and write in the English Language. Preferred Qualifications:Experience and Education:Bachelor of Science degree in a related field.
