Manager, Cold Chain Equipment Engineer (Project Management)

PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION:

You are primarily responsible for executing the global shipping equipment strategy for cell therapy products and managing relationships with shipping suppliers.

This is a cross-functional role partnering with the packaging engineering team (MSAT) and internal product development teams to build the most optimized, best-in-class shipping systems for our cell therapy products on a global scale.

You must be data-driven, detailed-oriented, thorough, and creative.

Experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience defining and managing shipping systems for cold chain logistics in a regulated environment (cGMP/FDA).
  • Must be skilled in planning and organizing, conflict management, decision-making, and innovation management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and to develop and maintain strong business partner relationships.
  • Highly self-motivated individual, with demonstrated ability to work independently.

     

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in written and verbal formats to all levels of the organization.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented; ability to prioritize effectively to deliver results within established timelines.
  • Operate successfully in a rapidly changing, ambiguous, and fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility in responding to change or business needs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead projects to identify and implement cold chain shipping systems that will reduce complexity while meeting the highest quality standards required for our cell therapy products.
  • Manage relationships with shipping system suppliers.
  • Collaborate with EU and APAC logistics leads on regional shipping system requirements.
  • Partner with Scheduling and Manufacturing teams on shipping system escalations.
  • Participate in business review meetings with shipping system suppliers.
  • Responsible for managing shipping system deviations and CAPA’s.
  • Own shipping system change controls and impact assessments.
  • Partner with data & analytics SMEs to develop forecasts for shipping system suppliers.
  • Develop and improve shipping system processes and documentation (SOP’s, WIN’s, etc.) to drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with other leaders across the organization and assist in the continuous improvement of the logistics process and related systems.
  • Manage activities and project milestones to implement changes and improvements.
  • Analyze and facilitate reporting, data visualizations, and process reengineering activities for operations and executive leadership.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant logistics, planning, or supply chain experience in a pharma/biotech or health services environment.
