There is much responsibility for the Regional Laboratory Director while on site. With that being said, 4+ years of experience in a Medical Lab as well as a minimum of 2 years in a management role is very important. Director is responsible for the overall operation and administration of the department as well as staffing needs to choose competent and compliant staff members to perform everyday procedures. 

Other responsibilities of Regional Laboratory Director may include;

• Proper examination, and analysis in making a diagnosis
• Ongoing monitoring of each test used in Lab
• Preparing budgets, schedules, and reports as needed
• Record and report test results effectively, and efficiently

It is important to have previous experience in Laboratory Leadership position in order to take on all responsibilities given to the team while overseeing a Manager and multiple Lab Techs. Being organized, hard-working, communicative, and passionate about healthcare are also qualities to portray when considering this opening in Washington. In depth knowledge of computers and information systems is helpful in being efficient, and understand responsibility.
