Job Description

Technical Product and Solution Senior Manager is responsible for managing the teams accountable for the design, development and management of P&T Enterprise Portfolios and the Enterprise Portfolio Reporting environment across the IT organization. The role will partner with key business stakeholders as well as product and solution development teams providing support through the SDLC processes to execute long-term strategies from ideation through integration. The role requires SDLC process, data management and the technical knowledge to support products and services through the entire lifecycle – from roadmap definition, requirements specification, feature and release prioritization, risk identifications and communication to key stakeholders.

Responsibilities

▪ Leads a team of Enterprise Portfolio Managers and Reporting Analysts
▪ Leads key cross-departmental initiatives as a stakeholder and facilitator for SDLC project/program processes improvements.
▪ Leads strategic plans and builds schedules and plans for delivery.
▪ Defines Portfolio Management standards for productivity, quality, and customer-service.
▪ Works with peers, Director and above to resolve cross-functional process and standard improvements and changes.
▪ Defines, develops and delivers strategic solutions and direction for the enterprise Portfolio reporting environment.
▪ Multi-tasks while managing multiple projects from end-to-end, in a demanding and rapidly-changing environment.
▪ Effectively presents to senior level leadership.
▪ Identifies/analyzes/synthesizes information, applies critical thought and presents the information in a clear and meaningful way.
▪ Identifies improvements, makes critical decisions and works with subject matter experts throughout the organization to implement solutions.
▪ Effectively manages team to achieve results by providing appropriate direction, timely developmental feedback and coaching, and conducting performance reviews and conversations.
▪ Interviews and hires qualified team members, striving to improve T-Mobile bench strength and augmenting teams with contract staff when required.
▪ Supports team in creating training and career development plans and ensures assignments with increasing levels of responsibility are given to staff.
▪ Provides coaching and direction to the team that drives action and enables achievement of performance and operational goals
▪ Participate in the evolution of quarterly planning and structuring of a formal Program Increment (PI) planning process for delivery teams
▪ Enable cross-team collaboration, and oversee risk and dependency management
▪ Partner with internal teams to help coordinate cross-team initiatives, backlogs and planning
▪ Exercise and champion Lean-Agile principles and practices
▪ Requirements stakeholder for the configuration of key portfolio management tools to visualize workflow and key meaningful measures
▪ Design and implement innovative solution delivery processes that ensure successful launch of innovative products and business outcomes.
▪ Able to provide leadership to product managers, collaborate with customers and develop strategies and solutions of high business value
▪ Possesses a level of technical background to provide highly credible leadership to development teams and to be able to accurately and objectively evaluate sophisticated project risks and issues
▪ Experience with and optimizing Agile portfolio management tools, JIRA-Align

Qualifications

▪ Scrum Product Owner certification (CSPO) preferred
▪ SAFE Certified
▪ Experience with Agile backlog/project management tools.
▪ 7+ years’ experience in a related field.
▪ 7+ years of relevant Product Management, Product Owner, Business Analyst, and System Analyst experience in an agile software product development environment.
▪ 3+ years’ experience in a leadership role.
▪ Proven success in directing matrixed resources and delivering software, with Agile Scrum methodologies, across multiple teams.
▪ Strong requirements elicitation, and proven writing skills including the ability to write concisely and clearly for different audiences.
▪ Ability to apply knowledge of multidisciplinary business principles and practices to achieve successful outcomes in cross-functional projects and activities.
▪ Expert knowledge and demonstrated application of all facets of lifecycle and technology operations.
▪ Ability to leverage business knowledge, sound judgement, and resourcefulness to determine appropriate course of action in challenging, ambiguous situations.
▪ Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to engage with and present ideas to senior leadership. Provides key input to facilitate decision-making process.

Minimum Qualifications

Education
▪ Bachelor’s Degree in computer Science, Business Administration, Project Management or combination of equivalent experience and education desired
