– Patient Accounts Job Locations US-OR-The Dalles Overview Mid-Columbia Medical Center is now accepting applications for a Supervisor I for Patient Accounts.

This position is Full-Time and is eligible for a comprehensivebenefits and time-off package.

Responsibilities Manages the daily operational of the revenue cycle billing and collection process, in alignment with the mission, vision, values, and objectives of the organization.

Understands and supports the Planetree philosophy and mission of patient-centered healthcare promoted at Mid-Columbia Medical Center.

Supports and gives guidance to staff regarding payer regulation changes, work assignment and collection process.Develops and reports daily, monthly, quarterly and yearly budget goals and financial outcomes.Reports directly to the Director of Revenue Cycle Qualifications Education:High School Graduate or equivalentMedical coding/billing experience preferred Certification with one of the following coding specialties; CCS-P, CCS, CPC or RHIT is preferred.

Experience:Minimum of three years progressively responsible professional experience in a healthcare business office working with hospital accounts and or outpatient clinic accounts.

Thorough knowledge of operations, including staffing and scheduling, budget management and billing/collection workflow.Minimum of three years’ experience in a supervisory position.Experience performing and documentation quality assurance reviews on transactions.Experience analyzing and researching insurance programs for claim information and to facilitate customer account transactions.Reviewing explanation of benefit (EOB) documentation for accurate manual payment and denial postingProcessing electronic files for accurate payment including accurate and timely creation of exception batches.Experience posing transactions on customer accounts including problem resolution.Prioritizing assigned accounts to maximize aged AR resolution.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Must understand payor billing regulation for compliancyWorking knowledge of ICD coding, CPT coding and HCPC coding.
